Let God Do A New Thing In Your Life

Jerusalem had fallen and Judah is suffering under Babylonian rule. Some of the people had been taken into exile while others remained in the land, but both groups suffered the effects of being a conquered people (Physically, economically, culturally, and religiously).

It’s during this time that we have messages in both Isaiah and Jeremiah, encouraging the exiles in Babylon, reminding them that God has not forgotten them, and reassuring them that He was fully aware of their situation and capable of delivering and saving them.

The prophets are clear that the reason behind God’s people’s situation… is their refusal to live according to God’s ways. The people of Israel should have known better because of God’s long-term loving and caring relationship with them (We should know better).

God promises to do new and exciting things in your life this coming year. His purpose is to save and bless you and others through you so that He may receive all glory, honor, and praise.

Life is worth living for those who delight in the Lord—for He promises to satisfy the desire of every heart. He says, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth” (Isaiah 43:18-19). “GOD WILL DO NEW THINGS IN YOUR LIFE”!

But… you’ll only know His promise and purpose if you realize your need for His… Forgiveness (sin). Forgetting the old things (slavery to sin, aimlessly wandering). Focusing on the new thing (salvation, service)!

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” —Corrie Ten Boom.
